September Harvest

Septemeber Harvest
- saving summer for winter -

Before
Yellow (Golden) Swiss Chard ready for blanching and the freezer!
Today I got yellow chard, red chard and some kale!

After

Before
Multiple types of carrots that I chopped up and blanched for winter!
These are going to taste great in January or February
when I am desperate for farm fresh!

After
One of the things that I have learned this year is how wonderfully blessed we are to have all this fresh produce, which we grew together, and knowing that it is free of chemicals, pesticides and decorative crap that is on the
stuff offered to us at the local (loco?) big box grocery store.
It is also really nice to eat ripe veggies straight from the field, often less than an hour or two from when it was harvested! We have eaten so well this summer!
